I'm trying to get back into blogging regularly, if only so I remember things that happen because life tends to blur together from month to month :) I have modeled this post after the blog Em for Marvelous which is one of my favorites!
On my calendar this month
My trip to Colorado is TOMORROW! I'm visiting dear friends from college AND high school, and trying to pack lots of mountain air and brewery visits into 4 days. Plus, I might be checking something off of my bucket list! :)
Family birthday month! Well, not my birthday but there are SO many birthdays in my family: Grant, both my parents (dad turns 70!), my sister Elizabeth, aunts, uncles, cousins, and our niece turns 1! It's insane!
A wedding! I'm babysitting my friend's son at her sister's wedding (did you catch all of that?!) and I'm so excited to help out!
What I'm loving right now
Glossier's* Cloud Paint (blush) in Storm, a warm rose color. Ugh it's so pretty.
Disenchantment on Netflix. I just want a personal demon named Luci, is that so much to ask?
Trader Joe's Organic Pomegranate Hibiscus Kombucha. I keep a few in the fridge at work to fend off mid-day Starbucks trips >_<
What I read in August
Like a Mother: A Feminist Journey Through the Science and Culture of Pregnancy by Angela Garbes | This is a quick read not just about pregnancy, but the women's health care system overall and how it has been shaped by sexism for so many decades in this country. It's important to note that it doesn't get political, the author just seeks to clear up false information and empowers women to have a pregnancy and birth that works for THEM. You don't have to be pregnant or even considering having children to enjoy this book, because I certainly did! There's SO much this book taught me (uhh the placenta chapter?!) and I'd recommend it to any of my friends or expecting parents! P.S. Not pregnant ;)
Plant a fall garden (or AT LEAST ONE PLANT come on Emily you can do this)
Organize hallway linen closet (I have the storage bins already! Woop)
Finish the books I'm currently reading (follow along with what I'm reading on my Goodreads account!)
Take seasonal shoes/clothes to my favorite consignment shop, donate what they don't take
Celebrate September birthdays!
Try one new restaurant in Fairfax (I'm really looking forward to trying this place!)
That's all for this month! See you in October for another goals post, where I'll include how I did with my September goals :)
